I took my first international trip when I was seven, moving to England with my family for almost a year. My college roommates were from American Samoa, and I got to visit them one summer. I majored in Italian and lived in Rome, teaching English, for a few months after graduating. For years, I traveled the United States for work, visiting 47 of the 50 states.
